Roberta Lang Roberta Lang
Executive Vice President

Roberta serves as Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of YogaSolve. She believes YogaSolve plays an important role in filling the void that exists for the rapidly growing number of people who want to take more responsibility for their health and wellness but don't have the tools or support they need. In addition to her role with YogaSolve, Roberta volunteers as a Yoga Yoga advisory board member where she consults on a wide range of business matters, including leadership and financial issues, teambuilding and employee empowerment, and marketplace position. Her love for yoga began in the 1970s and continues today.

Roberta also serves as General Counsel and Global Vice President of Legal Affairs for Whole Foods Market, Inc., a fortune 500 company and the world's largest retailer of natural and organic foods. Prior to her current roles, Roberta represented international and domestic clients. Her background, which is rooted in a love for entrepreneurship, also includes many years as a caterer and as an owner and partner of a natural food store in the Midwest. She sits on the board of the Whole Planet Foundation and was a board member of the former Animal Compassion Foundation. Roberta earned her undergraduate degree at Indiana University and her Juris Doctorate from the Valparaiso University School of Law.
 

 

Jeff Bonar, PhD

Dr. Jeffrey Bonar is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of JumpStart Wireless Corporation. He has spent his entire career commercializing advanced software. He combines strong business sense, visionary leadership, deep understanding of technology, and passionate commitment to results. JumpStart Wireless Corporation is the third startup he has founded. Earlier companies delivered software and services to customers like Sun Microsystems, American Airlines, United Parcel Service, MCI, Blue Cross of PA, Baxter Healthcare, NYNEX, and Canada Trust. At IBM, he led the team delivering IBM's first commercial version of industry standard middleware technology. As VP of Development for Ultimate Software, he delivered the first enterprise quality and Internet products in two major new releases of the product, including the first Internet products providing employee self-service. Dr. Bonar received his PhD in Computer and Information Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and his BA in Information Science and Biology from the University of California Santa Cruz. His blog Wireless Business Applications focuses on helping business organizations move their field staff from paper to wireless devices.

Laura Prewitt-Buchanan, M.D.

Dr. Prewitt-Buchanan received her BS from the University of Texas in Austin, Plan II Honor Program, and her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. She completed her Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Training Program at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She has been practicing medicine in the Austin area since 1993, specializing in the management of musculoskeletal problems and in electrodiagnostic medicine. Currently, she practices at Austin Pain Associates.

John Childs, PhD, PT, MBA

Dr. Childs is an Associate Professor and Director of Research in the U.S. Army-Baylor University Doctoral Program in Physical Therapy, the founder of Evidence in Motion, and co-developer of the Evidence in Motion blog and MyPhysicalTherapySpace. He is a board-certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic and Manual Physical Therapists. He completed his PhD in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Arizona. He was a Distinguished Graduate from the U.S. Air Force Academy where he received a Bachelor of Science. Dr. Childs maintains an active research agenda in the areas of sub-grouping patients with low back and neck pain, spinal and extremity manipulation, characterization of spinal instability, and the development of clinical prediction rules. He has received numerous research grants from federal and professional funding agencies and has published over 35 peer-reviewed manuscripts and 60 abstracts related to orthopaedics, biomechanics, and manual physical therapy in leading peer-reviewed journals.

Kelli Hejl, M.S.

Kelli Hejl is a Research Coordinator for the Trauma Services Department of the University Medical Center Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas. Currently, she manages over 20 ongoing studies and is responsible for IRB approval, recruitment, data collection, statistical analysis, and manuscript preparation. She completed a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology at St. Mary?s University in San Antonio and received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. Her research interests include experimental psychology, posttraumatic stress disorder, and substance abuse. Kelli is a member of the American Psychological Association and an active volunteer at the Austin State Hospital. She has had a consistent yoga practice for six years, and is currently enrolled in the Yoga Yoga 200-hour Teacher Training Program. Upon graduation from the training, she intends to blend her passion for yoga with her psychotherapeutic skills to be used in the treatment of common mental disorders.

Sat Bir Khalsa, PhD

Sat Bir Singh Khalsa, Ph.D. has conducted research in neuroscience, biological rhythms, sleep and sleep disorders for over 30 years and has practiced a yoga lifestyle for over 35 years and is a certified Kundalini Yoga instructor. He is currently the Director of Research for the Kundalini Research Institute, Research Director of the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School in the Department of Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. His research interests are in basic and clinical research on the effectiveness of yoga and meditation practices. He has conducted research funded by the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine involving clinical research trials of a yoga treatment for insomnia and has also researching yoga for post-traumatic stress disorder, substance abuse, back pain, music performance anxiety, and public schools among others. Dr. Khalsa actively interacts with yoga researchers internationally including those who are very active in India and works with the International Association of Yoga Therapists promoting research on yoga therapy. He has also been teaching an elective course at Harvard Medical School in Mind Body Medicine.

Richard Usatine, M.D.

Dr. Usatine is a faculty member at the University Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. As the founder and medical director of the University Health System Skin Clinic in San Antonio, he works to see that underserved patients have access to medical and surgical care for their dermatological needs. He is the lead author of the book Skin Surgery: A Practical Guide and is the national chair of the yearly Skin Course put on by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Usatine is the founder of the Interactive Dermatology Atlas and the editor of Photo Rounds in the Journal of Family Practice. In 2000, he was the recipient of a National Humanism in Medicine Award from the Association of American Medical Colleges. Since 2000, he has been chosen yearly by his peers to be included in The Best Doctors in America.
